We need sponsors for the dogs appearing on our website, and
also for dogs coming into rescue who need medical attention
before being placed on our adoption page.
STERLING is a sweet, young
puppy with the most amazing coloring. He has a
blue merle body with lots of tan on his face and
ears, and red freckles on his legs. Sterling
has one blue eye and one brown eye. His father
is a Border Collie and his mom is a Cattle Dog.
At 11 weeks of age, Sterling
already weighs 19 pounds! He will most likely
mature at around 45-50 pounds.
STERLING loves to give kisses
and he is loves to play with his toys. He
already knows come, sit, down, inside / outside and
is doing well walking on leash. He is doing
well with his crate training too. He goes in
and out of the crate on his own to sleep. He
sleeps through the night without any accidents and
barks to let you know when he needs to go out.
STERLING has had his first two
sets of vaccinations and is microchipped. He
is ready for his new home.
"Rowdy"
is now being sponsored in honor of our friends,
Berend and Shannon who are our BC's other
parents. Eugene
"Rowdy" is also being
sponsored by Kamrin.
Rowdy is a 3-year-old boy with a beautiful, shiny
coat & an attitude to match. He is on the small
side & is probably mixed with a smaller breed dog,
perhaps a Cattle Dog, as his tail has been docked.
Rowdy loves people & gets along beautifully with
other dogs. His favorite mode is PLAY, & his
one-liner is: "Did you say PLAY BALL?" This dog
lives to play ball. He accompanies his foster mom
on bike rides, so he would enjoy a home with a
runner or biker & with someone who would like to do
active/fun things with him. Rowdy was the
staff/manager favorite at an extremely high kill
shelter. They liked him so much that they had him
vetted for us, if we would take him. And who could
refuse Rowdy? Rowdy is neutered, current on
vaccinations & heartworm preventative, heartworm
negative, & wormed.
"Cody"
is being sponsored by M.A. and
the *G* force, Griffin,
"Glen", "Gregor" and "Gabriel" (in memory "Gareth"
and "Gavin")
CODY is such a happy boy!!!
He a 7 month old purebred Border Collie who just
wants to have fun! He loves everyone and loves
every dog he's met. He has met a cat briefly
and was very curious but not pushy. When the
cat ran, he wanted to chase. Most likely he
wanted to play!!! Cody does nicely on leash
although some formal training is always good with
these young dogs. He knows sit very well and
will sit at the door and wait for you to open it.
He tries not to jump on people so someone must have
worked on that issue in the past. Sometimes,
it's just too hard to resist and he will try to put
his feet on you. Cody hasn't had an accident
in his foster home
and he is very comfortable inside the house.
He does not put his feet on the counter and he
settles down nicely when he is inside. Cody
hasn't really learned his new name yet but he will
come when called, no matter what name you use!!!
Cody will most likely have a
medium length coat and he loves to be brushed, so
that is a good thing. He loves belly rubs and
he likes to be picked up! Cody is only 31
pounds now, so with maturity, he will probably be in
the 35-38 pound range.
Cody loves to play with toys,
stuffed toys being his favorite. He will
retrieve a ball, the trick is getting him to bring
it back!!! We're working on that. He is
doing well with his crate training, something we
don't think he has experienced before.
He is fully vaccinated,
neutered and ready for his new home.
"RHYS"
is being sponsored by Priti in memory of "Pinku".
RHYS is a very nice, 1 year
old, black & white Border Collie/Boxer mix. He is a
smoothcoat (easy care!), neutered male weighing
about 50 lbs. RHYS is happy and friendly, has a
cute smiling face, is outgoing, playful, loves toys
(but does need sturdy ones), can catch toys in
midair, intelligent boy. He is housebroken, knows
the sit command and will do so immediately when
asked and he is learning down. Loves squeaky toys,
loves attention, people oriented, responsive,
active, happy tail wags(body wags really), can focus
well, cute, sweet fella, happy to greet other dogs,
well mannered, very smart boy and learns quickly, a
darling boy who will be a wonderful addition to an
active family.
RHYS will readily come to be
petted and likes attention but settles easily at
your feet when you are otherwise occupied. He does
great off lead around the property (within fenced
areas), returning promptly when called or whistled.
He is interested in playing ball and even returns
the ball to you. RHYS is athletic and would be a
good running, hiking, biking partner.
RHYS is not an alpha dog and
gets along well with the other dogs at his foster
home. He easily mixes with the other dogs and
joins the pack in all kinds of play. RHYS has
encountered/chased Lucy Cat so a home without cats
is a MUST.
All in all, RHYS is a young,
sweet, happy dog with a typical young BC’s curiosity
and need for daily activity. He’s energetic and
playful, but not obsessive/compulsive We believe
RHYS will benefit from additional personal attention
and training to make someone a truly fine companion
dog. He is current on his vaccinations,
micro-chipped, is heartworm negative and on
preventatives.
"Riley" is being sponsored
in honor of Gwen and Robbie.
RILEY
is a happy, beautiful young boy, about 2 years
old with bright blue eyes. Except for the
occasional jumping up on someone,
he has nice manners. He is NOT a hyper dog - he
knows how to lay down and relax when nothing
exciting is happening. He's very people-oriented
and will follow his person around everywhere.
Riley does have a "bad" leg. His back left leg
seems to have been broken and healed crooked
some time in the past. Although it gives him an
odd walk/run and sticks out to the side, it does
not slow him down. The only time he favors
his back leg is after prolonged physical
activity.
He knows some basic commands, listens well, and
is very smart. He gets along perfectly with the
cats and dogs in his foster home and will
happily jump in his crate in the car to go for a
ride. He has even gone with me on a bumpy, windy
road to our property in the mountains and did
not get car sick. He seems to have a good
recall, at least in situations that aren't very
distracting. He is simply a great dog, and
everyone who has met him just loves him.
The more he settles in here, the more his desire
to herd is showing. Unfortunately, he considers
people something to be herded. Riley MUST go to
a home where the owners have a lot of dog training experience, as this behavior
needs to be trained out of him. I will not be
considering homes with young children, no
exceptions.
Maggie is a black and white smooth coated Border Collie mix. She has
many personality traits of a McNab,
but we'll never know for sure what
she really is other than an
energetic, happy girl.
Maggie is about 35 lbs and is about a
year an half old. She is spayed and up
to date on all her shots and is ready
for her forever home.
Maggie is a snuggle bug who loves belly
rubs. She loves the outdoors and loves to
swim. Maggie bonds quickly with her person
and is very protective of her family. She
gets along with our indoor cat and all of
the various foster dogs that have come and
gone from our home over the past year.
Maggie will do best with an active family in
a home with a fenced yard and without young
children.
Eleanor
& "Sophie" are sponsoring "CONWAY" in Thanksgiving
for wonderful BC friends.
"Conway" is also being
sponsored by Ian & Cheryl.
Conway is a 6 month old mix, medium size boy, with a
beautiful slick black and white coat. He has a very
sweet and happy personality, just seeking love and
cuddles. He very much wants to do the right thing,
and he's picking up his lessons in manners and
obedience very quickly, and will need to go to
a family that is willing and able to continue his
lessons.
He has not shown any destructive behavior in his
foster home, and doesn't jump fences or dig. He only
chews on his toys. He is catching on to his crate
training very well, and can go all night in his
crate without an accident.
Conway gets along well with his foster brother and
sisters, running zoomies all over the yard, play
wrestling, and poking around in the grass looking
for new things. Conway likes squeaky toys, but
mostly seems to like the company of his pack mates
and foster mom.
Conway is great with kids, learning not to jump, and
learning not to steal snacks out of little hands. We
don't know how he is with cats yet. We would
consider him a medium drive dog, meaning while he
has a lot of energy, he still likes to sack out on
the porch and rest when all the ranch chores are
done and everyone is sitting down.
All in all, Conway is a sweet, willing, eager to
please boy and will make a nice family pet for his
perfect forever home.
To learn more about CONWAY, you must have an
approved application
on file. To inquire about adopting him, please
