We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is
dedicated to the welfare of the Border Collie. We are active in rescue
from shelters and we assist owners who wish to place their dogs. We
depend on donations, adoption fees and profits from the sale of
merchandise to take care of the dogs in foster care. Medical bills run
very high and donations are always welcome. If you would care to make a
donation, or need more information, please contact

FEATURED RESCUE DOG OF THE MONTH
"LOGAN"

We are starting this month with a new feature.
Each month a special rescue dog will be on our front page. Sometimes,
we will show a recently rescued dog, one who is just about ready for
adoption. Other times, we will show a dog who needs medical attention
or specialized surgery before they are ready for adoption.
**We had planned on one special dog per month but
wouldn't you know it, we ended up with 3 dogs with special medical needs
this month!!!**
***************************
LOGAN is a 4-year-old gorgeous boy with blue eyes & a
lovely full coat. Logan was picked up stray & never reclaimed in the
shelter. The shelter staff discovered some lameness in one of his legs &
ordered x-rays. It turns out that Logan has an old injury in his hip that
was never fixed. He has been getting around with what amounts to a
dislocated hip for some time now, a condition that is quite painful to him &
is treatable with a surgical procedure called an FHO. After surgery & four
weeks of crate rest, Logan will be able to enjoy a pain-free life as
someone's beloved companion. Logan is a delightful dog with good manners. We
need help in paying for the surgery. He has a foster home that will take
care of his recovery until he is ready to be adopted.

"MUSTANG
SALLY"

MUSTANG SALLY is a sweet 6-year-old girl, who is
well-mannered, trained, & deserving of much more than she has had to this
point in her life. She came into rescue without having been spayed--& we
learned that during her spay surgery, the vet found the onset of pyometria,
an infection that can be fatal if left untreated. Further, she obviously
wasn't kept on heartworm preventative because Sally has tested positive for
heartworm & requires treatment. She is a wonderfully people-oriented dog &
gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. But sadly, for a
month she will have to be on 24/7 crate rest to recover from the heartworm.
She is expected to make a full recovery, as she had a light positive on the
test, & she is doing great in every other way. The treatment will put a
burden on our rescue funds, so we will be grateful--as will Sally--for any
help you can give.

The third dog needing help
is "Kimber" featured in the column on the right. |

THANK YOU TO A YOUNG LOCAL GIRL!!!!

9 year old Kimber
collected dog food for her birthday, instead of presents for herself,
and donated them to Border Collie Rescue of Northern
California. Kimber and her family have a Border Collie mix of
their own. Kimber presented her food donation on 4/28/2012
and she got to meet some of our foster providers and rescue dogs.
Thank you Kimber for your wonderful donation.
You have helped a lot of dogs with your kindness!!!
We've even named one of our new rescue dogs
"Kimber", in your honor!
***************************
Here is "KIMBER" the dog.

KIMBER is a beautiful, slight-of-build 1-year-old girl with the
dearest temperament. She was picked up stray & was obviously
not cared for well, as she has been diagnosed with heartworm
(4/30/12) & has not been spayed. Kimber is a gentle dog, who
is very attentive & loving. She loves to play & gets along
with everyone she meets, human & canine. Sadly for her, she
will have to be on 24/7 crate rest for a month while she
undergoes heartworm treatment. She is expected to make a
100% recovery, as she showed a light positive on the test &
she is otherwise very healthy. She has a foster home that
will take care of her during her recovery, but her treatment
will stretch our resources, & we could use any help you can
give.

We hope you will enjoy seeing the new dogs in our rescue
program. If you would like to assist us with
our efforts for these dogs by sponsoring or donating to their medical

SUPPORT OUR RESCUE ON
We are excited to now have items for sale, on
ebay. 100% of the sales from these items, goes to help the
dogs in our rescue! This is how it works: items are donated to
rescue, then through a special program with ebay and Missionfish, we
auction the items and all the money received goes to rescue.
We've just started this venture so we have a limited amount of items
available. There are some nice collectibles and books and lots
of other fun stuff, and we are adding new items everyday. In
addition to items posted by our rescue, there are also items from
other sellers who are donating a portion of their profits to our
dogs. If you'd like to check this out, please click on
